At Barrington Ayre we believe that having your clothing made is one of life's true pleasures, and we strife to ensure that your experience with us is as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.
Located in the middle of the gorgeous Market Town of Cirencester, in the centre of The Cotswolds, our Showroom is designed to be as welcoming and relaxing as possible, allowing to you experience the joy of bespoke clothing is the perfect surroundings.

My name is Tom Wharton, and I set up Barrington Ayre Shirtmaker & Tailor in 2010
I've always loved clothes, and being able to dress how I want to in the designs and fit I want. I have also always believed the whole experience is key, and that is why I set up Barrington Ayre Shirtmaker & Tailor.
I always found Savile Row intimidating. The tailoring shops on the Row aren't always the most welcoming and I wanted to be able to provide the finest tailoring in an environment where my customers could feel relaxed and really enjoy the experience.
In my mind, the experience is part of the joy of having your clothing. So, I set up, in my home town Cirencester, in a first floor Showroom that is relaxing and inviting.
We have a beautiful hand made blue Chesterfield sofa to relax on whilst you peruse the fabrics and designs. We have tea and coffee as well as wine and beer and even a gin and whisky bar for those who fancy a tipple!
There is also a large TV for when the sport is on. The whole Showroom is designed to be as welcoming as possible, and we are always more than happy to welcome visitors!
You will also find my dog Monty here on most days, who is a very placid dog, who likes a bit of a fuss but spends most of his time sleeping in the sun or by his heater when it's cold!

We understand the importance of getting the right look to reflect your personality, style and any theme you may have. We will help to create your own unique outfit, down to the last detail, ensuring every member of your Wedding party look perfectly put together on the big day.
We can make classic suits, morning suits and also specialise in tweed Wedding suits. Whatever your desire, we can gladly ,are it happen! We have even made matching coats for dogs and horses!!!!!

Being based in The Cotswolds, we are perfectly placed for all of your Country clothing.
As an avid country pursuits supporter and lover of tweed, we have everything you would ever need for your tweed clothing.
We currently hold well over a thousand different tweed samples in our Showroom, working with some of the most well known, and some much smaller tweed mills. One of these mills we found whilst fishing in Scotland and after sharing a wee dram or two with the owner we are delighted to be one of the only tailors around to offer these gorgeous tweeds.
We also have our own House Tweeds, that you won't find anywhere else.
We offer a full range of shoot and Estate clothing and are extremely happy to make your clothing from your own tweed if you wish.
We offer a full Estate visiting service and make for many Estates across the UK, as well as in the US!
Classic Tailoring
YOUR STAPLE WORKWEAR
We have a huge selection of classic suitings for you to choose from. Using the finest fabric mills from across the UK and a Italy, you will be sure to find the perfect fabric for your new suit.
The process begins with an initial appointment where we will discuss every aspect of your new suit. This ranges from how you will be wearing it, to how often you commute in it, to other areas like how hot (temperature wise!) a person you are.
We will then suggest some fabrics and we can both settle down and look through these and other fabrics to make sure that we find the perfect one for you/
We will also look at linings, design, style and any little extras that you wish to add to your suit.
We will then go through the measuring process, taking your measurements as well as looking at the shape of your body and the way in which you move and sit to make sure that your suit will fit perfectly.
We will get you back for another fitting appointment and make any adjustments and tweaks that may be needed to make sure that when you pick up your suit, that you are entirely happy with every aspect of it.
Our 'wearing in' period then kicks in, allowing to take your suit away with you to wear. allowing the canvassing and fabric to mould to your body, and then if any further tweaks are needed after this period those will also be done for you.

We have suitable jacketing fabric for every occasion.
From classic sports jackets, available in our selection of over 3000 tweeds, to a traditional navy barathea blazer.
We also have a huge range of summer jackets, ranging from linens, lightweight wools, open weave non crease wools, silk mix fabrics, bamboo fabrics and even hemp fabrics.
Our famous NIX jackets , with their unstructured, non crease properties are always a must have and the range of new colours we have for this year are a must see!
We also offer a range of more casual jackets, ranging from our new NIX inlay jacket, to classic bomber jackets to heavy cotton twill Chore jackets.
Our velvet jackets have also been. incredibly popular, and our ever growing range of luxury velvets are sure to tempt you!
