Summer Jackets - Mohair - Standeven

Mohair summer bespoke jacket fabric from Standeven

Summer Jacket Series - Mohair

Mohair is fabric made from the hair of the Angora goat. (This should not be confused with Angora wool, which is made from the fur of the Angora Rabbit) Both durable and resilient, mohair is notable for its high luster and sheen, and is often used in fibre blends to add these qualities. Mohair takes dye exceptionally well. Its moisture-wicking properties allow it to remain cool in summer, making it exceptionally good for a summer jacket. It is durable, naturally elastic, flame-resistant and crease-resistant. It is considered a luxury fabric, like cashmere, angora, and silk.

The Summerstrand Collection from Standeven Fabrics is a balanced and refined selection of ultrafine Super 100’s wool and mohair cloths, with an iconic British handle. Light in weight for warmer climates, inherent mohair properties help in keeping the wearer cool. The natural mohair fibres give a special lustre and natural crease resilience, making it a perfect light weight travel cloth.
