Self-Measurement Guide

Breeks — for remote and made-to-order commissions

Six measurements are all we need to cut a well-fitting pair of breeks. Take them over a shirt and close-fitting trousers, standing naturally with your weight even on both feet. A second pair of hands and a soft tape make all the difference — tape snug against the body, never pulled tight.

Outside leg and inside leg can be measured using existing breeks, laid flat when not being worn, or when on but undone at the calf.

1

Waist

Measure around your natural waist — roughly level with your navel, where you'd expect the breeks' waistband to sit. Tape snug, not tight; breathe out gently before reading.

2

Seat

Around the fullest part of the seat and hips, feet together, tape held level all the way round.

3

Thigh

Around the fullest part of the upper thigh, just below the seat. Stand with weight even on both feet.

4

Knee band

Around the leg an inch or so below the kneecap, where the breeks' knee band or buckle will sit. Bend the knee slightly, as you would when mounted or walking, then measure.
