Frequently Asked Questions
Bespoke Tailoring in the Cotswolds
What does bespoke tailoring mean?
Bespoke tailoring is the creation of a garment made entirely from scratch to your exact measurements and specifications. Every pattern is drafted individually, fittings are conducted in person, and the finished piece reflects your lifestyle, posture and personal style — not a standard size.
Where are you based in the Cotswolds?
We are proudly based in the heart of the Cotswolds, in the gorgeous Market Town of Cirencester, serving clients across Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and the wider South West. Appointments take place in our studio or by private consultation at your home or office where appropriate.
What garments do you make?
We specialise in bespoke suits, jackets, tweed clothing, wedding attire, coats and shirts. Each piece is handmade using traditional tailoring techniques and the finest British and European cloths. We proudly make for both men and women.
How long does a bespoke garment take to make?
Most bespoke garments take between 6–12 weeks, depending on the complexity and time of year. Wedding commissions and tweed suits for the racing season should be booked well in advance.
How many fittings are required?
Typically, two fittings are required. These ensure the garment evolves around you at every stage, allowing for precise refinement of fit, balance and comfort.
What fabrics do you use?
We work with the world’s leading cloth merchants, including British mills renowned for tweeds, flannels and suiting. You’ll be guided through fabric choices suitable for season, occasion and wear.
Is bespoke tailoring worth the investment?
A bespoke garment offers superior fit, longevity and individuality. Unlike ready-to-wear, it is made to last for years and can be altered as your body changes — making it a long-term investment in quality and style.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before my appointment?
Not at all. Many clients come with a general idea, while others prefer expert guidance. We’ll help you define the style, cut and details that suit you best.
How much does bespoke tailoring cost?
Prices vary depending on garment, cloth and construction. We are always transparent about costs and will discuss budgets during your initial consultation. A classic 2 piece is around £995 - £1295, a bespoke three piece is £1395 - £1795 and jackets are around £795 - £995, again, price is dependent on your fabric choice.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book a consultation via our website or by contacting us directly. Appointments are always relaxed, unhurried and by arrangement to ensure personal service.
