The houndstooth pattern is basically a small jagged repeating pattern rather than a square, said to look like the teeth of a hound. Hence the name!
The traditional houndstooth check is small in scale and usually found in muted tones of either brown or black, but now a days there are lots of colours on offer.
It is a great design to choose as it is smart, if you need a business suit, but also works really well for a more casual look.
The design also works really well worn as separates. The jacket works brilliantly on its own. Wear the jacket & waistcoat with different trousers for another look and the trousers work really well with a plain jacket or knitwear.
